Welcome to NeverDesign.net—The portfolio website of Jon De Araujo
I create imaginative, thoughtful and accessible digital experiences.
Hi, my name is Jon. I’m a UX/UI Designer and developer. I’m a passionate designer and a creative at heart wise in the ways of UX/UI and skilled in design and development principals. Since finishing a Bachelors Degree in Creative Industries (Communication Design) in 2007 I have worked in the industry at a wide variety of organizations internationally and freelanced in-between.
My Role
I'm currently building great things with Mobility Quotient in the role of Front End Developer Team Lead. The role involves overseeing, managing and being involved in almost all UX/UI development across the company. I spend my days designing, developing and testing and when I'm not doing those I am helping my team succeed or interacting with clients. I work closely with our design team and back end developer team to bring projects to life. The role is challenging and rewarding. I started out as a designer and front end developer and am now the Front End Developer team lead. I'm still heavily responsible for UX/UI design and implementation.
My accomplishments
I've helped create a totally custom tool to help individuals and families with Autism lead successful lives and advance in their careers and personal goals. I've mentored individuals from all walks of life including those with learning difficulties. Building a custom learning management tool encouraged me to approach site design and integration differently. Being a part of a team that builds custom tooling for industries ranging from automotive to food and beverage, document compliance to hyper-local news and even a local business search engine.
During my time in my current role I have brought about company wide change to implement and formalize the business processes involved in getting a project from concept to completion. I've been responsible for optimizing the tooling and development practices for front end, UX and UI development at the company. On top of this I have also been largely responsible for creating the front end infrastructure that allows MQ to successfully turn around custom systems for small, medium and large scale projects.
Need more details?
Most of the work I do in my current role involves creating both public facing and protected experiences and given the nature of those projects and sensitivity of client data I'm not able to publish a folio of designs online. Please don't hesitate to say hello for examples of work and more information.
